Rates

As of January 1st, 2025 my rates are as follows:

• $150 per hour session for individuals
• $160 per hour session for couples

N.B: Payment will be collected on the day of your session, with the exception of those who choose to have a free 30-minute introductory consultation. A $50 fee will apply to missed or cancelled appointments with less than 24 hours notice.

If you’re not sure about counselling, or if I am the right fit for you, I offer a free 30-minute consultation. I don’t ask for any commitment: you just need to show up, ask questions, and determine whether you feel comfortable.

Do your workplace health benefits cover counselling costs?

Although counselling fees are not covered under the BC Medical Services Plan, Rethink Counselling services are recognized by many workplace health benefit plans (e.g., Pacific Blue Cross and Sunlife) and offer some reimbursement for mental health services.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) licensed by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.  Ask your workplace Human Resources department or insurance company if you have coverage to see an RCC.  I provide receipts (showing my name and registration number) to allow you to claim your counselling fees from a workplace health benefit plan.

Note that some insurers only cover professionals such as Registered Social Workers. If this is the case, your insurance provider may consider amending the plan if you submit a request letter.  Let me know if you want a sample request letter to use.

ICBC and the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP)

I am registered with the BC Government’s Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) and provide counselling services through ICBC’s Enhanced Care program for people involved in, or witness to, motor vehicle accidents.

If you are eligible to receive counselling support from either of these programs, I can handle billing for you.
